I came to the synagogue design field via 37 years in commercial and residential design and a like number of years of activity in Reform Judaism as a temple president, regional and national board member and student of religious art and architecture. Subsequently, I was encouraged by rabbinic friends to devote my time to consulting; thus Jacobson/Associates.
For the past twenty-five years we have refined and nurtured the “team” approach to synagogue design. Starting with the premise that no one person knew it all we identified designers, artists, artisans, architects, colorists, sound and lighting specialists with unique knowledge and sensitivity. We have gained a reputation for creating space with spirituality and warmth.
